Changes to Qualifications
ILEX is revitalising its current
suite of Legal Executive qualifications. ILEX has decided that
students will be best served by a fully re-developed and modernised
set of Professional qualifications. The new set of qualifications
are to be unitised, credit-ready and flexible so as to
provide a greater range of professional qualification outcomes.
New Level 3 qualifications will be
offered in centres from 1st September 2008, and
new Level 6 Professional Higher qualifications from 1st
September 2009. The introduction of new qualifications
means that the current qualifications will be withdrawn by ILEX.
The last examinations for the current Level 3 and Level 6
qualifications will be in October 2009. After this
date, there will be no further opportunities to sit examinations
for the current qualifications. This means that existing students
need to finish off their current qualification.
ILEX Level 3 Professional Diploma
in Law
The ILEX Level 3 Professional Diploma in Law
has now been replaced by the ILEX
Level 3 Diploma in Law and Practice, and is no longer
available for new students. The new level 3
Diploma in Law in Practice is a unitised qualification and allows
students to gain qualifications as they progress.
These newly accredited qualifications are the
culmination of a year long consultation with members, students,
centres and employers. The following tables identify at a glance
the basic characteristics of the new qualifications.
