Single subject diplomas
All ILEX Level 6 courses can be studied in
their own right as individual subjects, rather than as part of the
ILEX Professional Qualification in Law.
Non-members of ILEX may take individual
subjects of the ILEX Level 6
Professional Higher Diploma in Law, to gain an ILEX Level 6
Single Subject Higher Diploma in Law qualification.
The also be achieved by Fellows and Members of
ILEX who take additional Level 6 Professional Higher Diploma in Law
subjects to increase their range of specialist knowledge.
If you are not looking for a professional
qualification, but do wish to gain specialist, in-depth knowledge
of a particular area or areas of law and legal practice, then these
courses are ideal. Many ILEX Members and Fellows study the
diploma courses to meet the requirements of the Solicitors Regulation
Authority’s (SRA) academic stage of training.
If you pass the ILEX Level 6 exam in an
individual subject, and not as part of the ILEX Professional
Qualification, you will be awarded a ILEX Level 6 Single Subject
Higher Diploma in Law (SSHD). The Single Subject Higher Diploma
will not itself confer any of the benefits of membership of ILEX,
but is a recognized stand-alone qualification.
