ILEX Level 3 Certificate in Law and
Practice
Within the range of new level 3 qualifications, ILEX is offering
a ILEX Level 3 Certificate in Law, which is based on the ILEX
Level 3 Professional Diploma in Law and Practice units but is a
shorter qualification. ILEX anticipates that most students studying
for the ILEX Level 3 Professional Diploma in Law and Practice
will achieve the ILEX Level 3 Certificate in Law and Practice on
route. As the qualifications draw from the same choice of units and
are both cumulatively achieved, this provides you with an early
opportunely to demonstrate your competence and gain a recognised
legal qualification.
The ILEX Level 3 Certificate in Law and
Practice has been developed to recognise the growing number of
students who are either interested in gaining a short but rounded
introduction to law and practice, or have a specific learning need
within an specialized area of law. This qualification consists of 5
units in total which are individually accumulated.
The ILEX Level 3 Certificate in Law
is offered as an endorsed outcome, eg ILEX Level 3 Certificate
in Law and Practice (Conveyancing), which reflects the
combination of units taken. There are seven
possible specialisations. Candidates will only be permitted to
achieve the qualification through the following identified
combinations. Students need to achieve units 1,
16 and 17 and then each endorsed qualification title requires the
following combination of Law and Practice units:

Note:
- Students will not be permitted to achieve the
Certificate qualification through any other combination of units
other than those listed above.
- Because the study of a Practice area makes little sense without
the necessary underpinning knowledge of the relevant area of Law,
ILEX has decided that no Practice unit can be studied towards
the achievement of any of the above three qualifications unless the
student is also undertaking the relevant Law unit. This
association of Law and Practice units is captured in each of the
Law and Practice combinations listed in the table above. This rule
does not affect those students wishing to take a Practice unit as a
single unit which is not towards the achievement of a specific
qualification.
