Who can train as a Legal Executive?

We offer a highly cost-effective and accessible route to becoming a lawyer. Entry is accessible for those holding a variety of qualification levels.

The ILEX route to a career in law is the ideal way to obtain a law qualification for recent school leavers, graduates, legal support staff, mature students and those who already have family commitments. Typically, those studying receive on-the-job training in solicitors’ offices or legal departments, whilst also attending classes in law and practice at academic institutions or via distance learning.

So if you wish to switch to a career in law, or want to 'earn and learn' and avoid student debt, ILEX is your first choice.

Entry is open to all, however we strongly recommend that ILEX students have a minimum of four GCSEs at grades C or above in academic subjects, including English language or equivalent qualifications such as the City & Guilds/ILEX Level 2 Certificate in Vocational Paralegal Studies (now to be called the level 2 Certificate in Legal Studies).
